Jefferson City, Mo. — Today, Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft, joined by 19th Circuit Judges Jon E. Beetem and Patricia Joyce, certified the results of the Aug. 8, 2017, special elections held for the 50th Legislative District and 28th Senatorial District.
“We are very grateful for all the work local election authorities and poll workers did to ensure the success of these elections,” Ashcroft said. “Clearly, Missouri’s photo voter ID law works. Every registered voter can vote.”
With today’s election certification, the Secretary of State’s Office filed a motion to dismiss the voter ID lawsuit brought by Missouri’s NAACP and the League of Women Voters.
