Week 6 of #MOTIMESFF: ‘I’ll never let go, Jack.’ Except she did.

Much like the end of Titanic, Week 6 of the Missouri Times Fantasy Football League to Benefit the United Way of Central Missouri sees those at the top stay safely adrift and those at the bottom of the barrel are just struggling to stay afloat. In this analogy, Missouri Times Publisher Scott Faughn is Rose, staring at a shivering, soaked, and hypothermic Treasurer Schmitt.

“Billy” Noel Torpey didn’t start the fire, but he tried to fight it. Unfortunately, he got burned by sizzlin’ Scott Faughn. 55.2-115.5

There are probably many “Songs About” Jane, but it didn’t take 5 to leave her marooned – Dueker falls to Bill Eigel. 78.6-102.1

It’s a Haahr knock life for the Speaker-Elect as Elijah Haahr is taken down by John “Panic at the” Rizzo. 62.3-94.3

Ryan McKenna continues to river dance all over his opponents like Michael Flatley, Robert “Red Red Wine” Knodell stumbles 107.2-74.4

She’s just a small town girl, living in a lonely world, but Becky Lohmann takes it to the bank against Treasurer Eric Schmitt. 108.4-80.7

It looks like the Crystal Method didn’t pay off as Rep. Crystal Quade gets mic dropped by the Singing Senator himself, Caleb Rowden. 75.9-100.1

Expect to see a lot of claims for Alfred Morris, RB, DAL and Darren McFadden, RB, DAL this week as everyone rushes (pun intended) to make preparations for Zeke Elliott’s potential suspension reinstatement.

Samaje Perine, RB, WAS finally made a fantasy impact this week, but once Fat Rob Kelley is healthy again, look for Perine and Chris Thompson to drop off.

At week 7 it’s hard to find many “sleepers” and barring injuries, most teams should have their starters set. Having said that, there are a few places where you may be able to get value off the waiver wire or in a trade.

If Aaron Rodgers was your QB1, don’t assume that Brett Hundley can’t be an option – I doubt he will put up 20+ weekly, but he has the same weapons and those 3 INTs came against a good Vikings D. He is in a perfect situation to put up numbers going against a leaky New Orleans defense – that may give you an extra week to find something better.

Marlon Mack, RB, IND  (owned in 22% of leagues) may finally have his chance to shine. With the loss of Robert Turbin, Mack should not lose much time to Matt Jones and could see a more significant split with Gore going forward.

Chris Ivory is only owned in 16% of leagues, while he won’t take much away from a healthy Fournette, he may benefit from the Jags being cautious with their first-round draft pick after an ankle injury in LA. Fournette does not have an injury designation – so Ivory is a flyer in deep leagues.

Chiefs fans and anyone in a deep league may look at Akeem Hunt, RB, KC – Charcandarick West is out with a concussion and Hunt #2 may get some junk time or 3rd down work on a short week with a division game against Oakland on Thursday.

Orleans Darkwa, RB, NYG is the only running back worth having from the Giants’ roster, he rushed 21 times against Denver leading to a Giant – upset.

Expect the Giants to rely more on the running game and TE Evan Engram, at least until Sterling Shepard is 100% again.
