After a state court ruling today that allows medically unnecessary delays for abortion care to go into effect, NARAL Pro-Choice Missouri Executive Director Alison Dreith issued the following statement:
“This ruling forces Missouri women to jump through even more hoops to access basic healthcare and is an affront to our constitutional right to access abortion. These medically unnecessary delays do nothing to improve our health and wellbeing. They are merely the latest attack on Missouri women’s access to basic healthcare, fueled by Governor Greitens and Attorney General Hawley’s obsession with rolling back our basic rights and dignity. It’s clear that this was never about healthcare, but rather about anti-choice politicians who push their out-of-touch ideology no matter the devastating cost to Missouri’s women and families.”
