Mike Medsker announces re-election for Cass County Recorder of Deeds

Recorder of Deeds Mike Medsker has announced his bid for re-election in Cass County. Medsker has been serving as Cass County Recorder since 2011. The recorder’s office handles all land transactions in the county, marriage licenses, and state tax liens.

“Since I became the Recorder of Deeds, I have focused on making sure the office is constituent-friendly,” said Medsker. “ I hold this position knowing full-well that I am here to serve the people of Cass County and to ensure I am being a good steward for a responsible, high functioning local government. We have made great strides in the office since I was first elected and we will continue to do so moving forward.”

Medsker is a lifelong resident of Missouri. He and his wife, Angie, have been married 15 years and they have two children: Zoey, 13 and Nathan, 10. The family attends Journey International Church.

In addition to serving in his role with the county, Medsker also owns a Farmer’s Insurance Agency, where he services the people of Cass County and surrounding areas. Medsker formerly  served as a Councilman for the City of Raymore and was the past President for the Raymore Chamber of Commerce. Currently, he is a member of all the local chambers of commerce and the Recorders Association of Missouri, where he leads several  committees.  He has been involved with both the Optimist and Rotary Club  and the Raymore Peculiar School District. In his spare time, he coaches baseball, softball, and basketball.

Medsker commented, “I have had the pleasure to play many roles within my community. Whether it is working as County Recorder, operating an insurance agency, or getting involved with local projects, I value the opportunity to reach out and connect with friends and neighbors. I believe in serving my community and helping make Cass County a fantastic place to do business and raise a family.”

When Medsker came into office, he inherited some residual financial troubles; he has cited the need for accountability and to keep the office financially sound as his chief priority. “I have since worked hard to improve our office’s accountability standards. I believe it is my responsibility to serve our constituents to the best of my abilities and I am always trying to pioneer ways to better serve. I am thankful that the community continues to have faith in my abilities and I look forward to accomplishing more together in the future.” Medsker has made great strides while in office, making it more cost effective and efficient.  Namely, he has made documents available to citizens and business free of charge, while also reducing office costs and maintaining a positive revenue stream.  The office also implemented a fraud detection system that citizens have access to, also free of charge.

Medsker has retained Axiom Strategies to consult on his re-election campaign.
