Oreskovic joins growing field of candidates for 109th seat

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The primary is still months away, but the race to replace the term-limited state representative Paul Curtman continues to take some interesting turns, with a growing field of candidates seeking to be the next representative of House District 109.

Three candidates have indicated their intent to run for the seat: Kevin Juergens, Lucas Dieckhaus, and John Simmons, but Dieckhaus’ committee was terminated in mid-January after he removed himself from the race.

Still, it seems the magic number for the race will be three, as Bob Oreskovic has also entered the race.

Bob Oreskovic

The retired active duty Army colonel already has a lifetime worth of service, whether it be as a volunteer firefighter and EMT, as a board member of the School District of Washington, or as a member of the VFW, American Legion, or his service with the Four Rivers YMCA Advisory Board.

He says that he wishes to continue that same public service by making a difference and representing the citizens of Franklin County.

Oreskovic holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin, a Master’s in Business Administration from Golden Gate University, and a Master’s in Strategic Studies from the Army War College.

As for his political ideologies, Oreskovic describes himself as a common-sense conservative, saying his priorities are low taxes, local government control, first responders, and education issues.

The primary race for the seat will be held on August 7, 2018.
