Governor’s indictment dominates This Week in Missouri Politics

Arguably the biggest headline of the session so far: Grand jury issues indictment for Governor. It was certainly the main topic of discussion on This Week in Missouri Politics.

“What got me the most, is the very day we sat in the State of the State and we’re lectured on ethics — we were lectured about ethics for five minutes — and two hours later, we find this out,” Rep. Kathie Conway said on the opinion maker panel. “I don’t know where the line is with this governor.”

“To your point,” Ray Hartmann, publisher of St. Louis Magazine, responded, “I think it is some kind of new gold medal for hypocrisy.”

And in politics, that is saying something, according to host Scott Faughn.

Just because Gov. Eric Greitens was charged with Class D felony on Thursday afternoon, doesn’t mean that’s all that happened in Missouri politics this week.

“A delayed investment only costs for later,” Sen. Dave Schatz, this week’s featured guest, said on transportation infrastructure funding.

Schatz also dives into opioids, a gas tax, the race for Senate Pro Tem and other topics. Check out the full broadcast Sunday morning.
