Republican Dave Griffith filed today to be the 60th district state Representative

Today Dave Griffith filed to run for 60th District State Representative as a Republican. The 60th District is located in Jefferson City, in Cole county.

“After prayerful consideration and encouragement from my family and friends, the call to service has once again brought me to a new chapter in my life. Today, I filed to be the next 60th District State Representative. I look forward to the opportunity to continue serving the people of our community.  The path that led me here began many years ago. Long before I joined the Army and before I was called on to serve in the Red Cross, my father, a Methodist minister, and my mother, a 35 year Red Cross volunteer, instilled in me the value of service to my fellow man.”

Dave Griffith has spent the past 32 years living, working, and raising his family in Jefferson City. Griffith spent 23 years working at local television station KRCG, serving in roles ranging from production to account executive. In 2010, he was elected to the city council where he served until he was called to lead the Red Cross as Executive Director, a position he has held for the past 6 years. Griffith has spent nearly his entire adult life in service to our local community; prior to that he served our country in the United States Army as a Green Beret.

“As your State Representative, I promise to protect innocent life, defend our 2nd Amendment rights, and invest in our children’s economic future by investing in our schools and crumbling infrastructure. I will always fight for our veterans and will work expand veteran’s courts to help tackle the tough issues facing our veterans. Finally, I will always be a champion for our state employees and will fight for the compensation they deserve, said Griffith.”

Dave and his wife Leigh have been married for 45 years in August. They have two children and five grandchildren. Dave will be on the ballot in the Republican Primary on August 7th.
