WARRENTON, Mo. — Jessica Catron, Republican candidate for State Representative, announced today that she had received the exclusive endorsement of two of the state’s most influential agriculture leaders.  In a press release, Catron cited the endorsement of the Senator Brian Munzlinger and Representative Jay Houghton, the legislative chairs of the Senate and House Agriculture Policy committees.

“Jessica [Catron] is committed to advancing Missouri’s number one industry, agriculture,” Munzlinger said.  “Her depth of knowledge of the issues, thorough understanding of the legislative process, and strong ties to agriculture advocates throughout the state make her an ideal candidate to represent that area of the state in the Missouri House.”

Echoing Senator Munzlinger’s remarks, Representative Houghton stated that Catron’s strong policy background led to his endorsement in the race.  “There will be no learning curve with Jessica,” Houghton said. “Farmers and Ranchers have been constantly under attack by radical special interests groups seeking to put them out of business.  We need someone who will be a fearless advocate for agriculture serving in Jefferson City.

“I’m honored to have the support of Senator Munzlinger and Representative Houghton in this race,” Catron said.  “Agriculture is a major employer in our communities and a vital industry for our state. These two have been legislative leaders on a wide array of issues confronting the agriculture community and I look forward to continuing to work with them to support Missouri’s farmers and ranchers.”

Catron is running to replace Representative Bart Korman who can no longer seek re-election due to term-limits.
