Ozarks Public Television tower collapses, kills one 

University provides support to crew members and families.

SPRINGFIELD — A tragedy occurred in Fordland today. A KOZK tower collapsed while crew members from the state of Washington performed maintenance on it. One crew member died.

“We are shocked and saddened by the news,” said Suzanne Shaw, vice president for marketing and communications at Missouri State University. “Our condolences go out to the victims and their families. We are also providing support and resources to the other team members affected.”

Three team members were transported to Springfield for medical evaluation. Their injuries were not life-threatening.

Regional stations are helping Ozarks Public Television to restore service in the aftermath of the tragedy.
