Greitens reappoints Victor Callahan to State Tax Commission

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Governor Eric Greitens reappointed Victor Callahan, of Independence, to the State Tax Commission. Callahan served in the Missouri State Senate from 2003 to 2013. He was unanimously elected as Floor Leader to the Missouri State Senate Democrats in November 2008 and November 2010. Senator Callahan served as a member of numerous Senate committees, including Administration, Gubernatorial Appointments, and Small Business, and as chair of the Progress and Development Committee.

Prior to being elected to the State Senate, Callahan served as an Independence City Councilman and as Chairman of the Jackson County Legislature. He is a recipient of the Harry S. Truman Recognition Award and Citizen of the Year by the Truman Heartland Foundation and the Independence Chamber of Commerce.

Callahan was appointed to the State Tax Commission in 2013.
