Hawley announces Veterans Advisory Council

COLUMBIA, Mo. — U.S. Senate candidate Attorney General Josh Hawley announced his Veterans Advisory Council today, composed of brave Missouri men and women who proudly served our country. The Veterans Advisory Council’s support symbolizes Hawley’s commitment to ensuring that American military members and veterans receive the honor and support they deserve.

“Our veterans are American heroes. I am thankful for their support on our Veterans Advisory Council, but more importantly, I am grateful for their service to our country,” said Josh Hawley. “They put their lives on the line in defense of our country, our ideals and our freedom. We are forever indebted to them and their families.”

Council Co-Chairs:

Colonel Jack Jackson — United States Marine Corps
A highly decorated veteran, Col. Jack flew over 600 combat missions in Vietnam and has been awarded countless medals and awards. In 2002, he was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives, where he chaired the Veterans Committee and the Joint Committee on Terrorism, Bioterrorism, and Homeland Security.

Lieutenant Commander Lesley Hawley – MD FAAD, United States Navy
After receiving her Doctor of Medicine Degree, Lesley spent nine years active duty with the U.S. Navy, performing laser surgeries for fellow officers and engaging in humanitarian efforts across the world. Over the last three years, she served as Staff Dermatologist in Norfolk, VA. As the Laser Department Chair for Dermatology, LCDR Hawley performed close to 500 laser surgery treatments for scar contractures and burn injuries in wounded warriors, dependents, and veterans who sustained traumatic injuries both at home and abroad. She has been awarded two Navy commendation medals, the Global War on Terror Service Medal, the Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and two meritorious unit commendation medals.
