New poll shows neck and neck race in SD 18

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – A new poll conducted by Gravis Marketing shows the state senate race to replace the term-limited Sen. Brian Munzlinger is about as close as it can get.

According to the poll, three candidates in the Senate District 18 race (Cindy O’Laughlin, Rep. Craig Redmon and Rep. Lindell Shumake) are neck and neck in their mission to serve as the district’s next senator.

O’Laughlin has led the four GOP candidates in fundraising, and from the poll’s data, she maintains a two-point-lead over Redmon and Shumake, who both carry 20 percent of the vote.

SD18
O’Laughlin 22%
Redmon 20%
Shumake 20%
Walker 8%
Undecided 29%

Rep. Nate Walker comes in with eight percent, but as the poll shows 29 percent of voters being undecided, the race could pan out in anyone’s favor.

In the Senate’s 34th district, both Harry Roberts and Tony Luetkemeyer are seeking the GOP nomination. The Gravis Marketing poll shows Luetkemeyer with a 37-23 lead over Roberts, though once again, the undecided factor, coming in at 40 percent, could swing the race either way.

Luetkemeyer 37%
Roberts 23%
Undecided 40%
