Jefferson City, Mo. — Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft and a bipartisan group of Secretaries of State from across the country are preparing for the upcoming National Election Security Summit, which will be held in St. Louis on Sept. 10-11, 2018. The summit’s location sponsor is World Wide Technology, which maintains its Global Headquarters in St. Louis.

Federal, state and local election authorities will be joined by U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, DHS Under Secretary Christopher Krebs and other officials from DHS, the U.S. Election Assistance Commission, the Elections Infrastructure – Information Sharing and Analysis Center, security professionals, election experts and other industry leaders. Together they will join in discussions that will provide useable steps to mitigate threats and vulnerabilities as election authorities gear up for the 2018 mid-term elections.

“With heightened scrutiny of election security, we want to provide the assurance that – as always – state election authorities are leading the way, and we continue to work together to protect elections,” Ashcroft said. “We are bringing together officials at each level of government to come away with useable, actionable takeaways to continue securing elections.”

Presenters will lead attendees through topics such as protecting election systems, crisis management, security and crisis best practices, election equipment security and communication.

Other Secretaries of State that will be in attendance include Kyle Ardoin (LA), Barbara Cegavske (NV), Matt Dunlap (ME), Tre Hargett (TN), Rolando Pablos (TX), Paul Pate (IA), Maggie Toulouse Oliver (NM), Mac Warner (WV) and Kim Wyman (WA).
