JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Governor Mike Parson has a relatively quiet week, with the inaugural Parson Family Fall Festival set to take place on Saturday.
October 6 is set to see the Missouri Governor’s Mansion bustling with activity for a festival that will include live music, a straw maze, face painting, vendors, and more. The Parson Family Fall Festival is a free event that will run from 10 a.m-1 p.m. and will feature vendors, activities for kids, and a bluegrass band for musical entertainment.

Parson has declared October as Disability Employment Awareness Month in Missouri. He is is dedicating October “to educate” employers and the public on “disability employment issues” and to “celebrate the many and varied contributions of America’s workers with disabilities.”
“Workplaces welcoming of all people, including people with disabilities, are a critical part of the efforts to build an inclusive community and strong economy,” Parson wrote.
Monday saw Parson — and several agricultural leaders — praising President Donal Trump for the new NAFTA deal.

On Wednesday, Parson congratulated Dr. George Smith at the University of Missouri for winning a Nobel Prize in Chemistry.

And he celebrate manufacturing day on Friday by drawing attention to Missouri’s history in the field.

And the Missouri Department of Economic Development has launched a search for the new head to the Office of Public Counsel. Marc Poston will be serving as acting director until a candidate can be chosen.
