COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Columbia Chamber of Commerce is hosting Missouri Lt. Gov. Mike Kehoe and SaferMO.com’s Scott Charton to talk about the details of the Proposition D. Voters will have the chance to vote on the ballot initiative on Tuesday, November 6. Proposition D will generate funding to be used for improving the state’s transportation systems. By increasing the motor fuel tax by two and one-half cents per gallon annually for four years (beginning July 1, 2019), it is estimated to generate $288 million annually to be dispersed to state and local governments. These funds will be used for road construction and maintenance.
