JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Missouri’s oldest and largest grassroots network, Missouri Right to Life, has come out in opposition of a medical marijuana amendment proposal, saying they believe it would open the door for public funding of unethical research.
Amendment 3, dubbed “The Bradshaw Amendment,” is supported by Springfield area lawyer and doctor Brad Bradshaw.
“Amendment 3 is being sold as an amendment to legalize medical marijuana in Missouri,” MRL campaign literature says. “While it does do that, it also creates a whole new bureaucracy, operating largely outside of any legislative oversight, with access to millions of state dollars.”
The opposition comes on the heels of MRL announcing opposition to Amendment 1.
