Evans recognized by Republican State Leadership Committee

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — The Republican State Leadership Committee selected a series 18 races around the country to watch for in the 2018 elections and Missouri’s own Rep. Jean Evans made the cut.

“During her first term as a legislator, Jean worked diligently to pass a child marriage ban, ban the shackling of pregnant inmates, and help minority and women-controlled non-profits,” the Republican State Leadership Committee wrote.

Evans is running for her second term in Missouri’s 99th House District.

As state-level Republicans have reached modern highs in legislative majorities and statewide offices held, the RSLC has brought attention to outstanding Future Majority Project and Right Women, Right Now candidates running in critical races by highlighting them through the “Races to Watch” program since 2014.

In total, the RSLC featured 90 down-ballot candidates with its five editions of the “Races to Watch” list who are changing the face of the Republican Party at the state level and are breaking barriers in state legislatures and statewide offices.
