State employee donations exceed $1 million in annual charitable campaign; more than $31 million raised in campaign history

“Caring is Magical” campaign will benefit nearly 800 Missouri charities

JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Office of Administration today announced that this year’s Missouri State Employee Charitable Campaign (MSECC) exceeded donations of $1 million for the 15th consecutive year, with $1,006,446 donated to 784 Missouri charities. During the past 34 years, state employees have donated more than $31 million to the annual campaign.

“We lift up our communities, our state, and our nation when we serve others and show compassion to those in need,” said Office of Administration Commissioner Sarah Steelman. “The State of Missouri workforce continues to put the needs of our citizens first with another remarkable year of charitable giving. Their generosity is going to make a difference in the lives of so many Missourians and their families.”

Other notable highlights from this year’s campaign:

  • The Missouri Department of Transportation ranked 1st in pledges among state departments.
  • The Office of Administration and MOSERS employees had their highest pledges in the history of the campaign.

The MSECC is an annual fundraising effort organized by the Office of Administration. It provides state employees and retirees with the opportunity to make donations to their favorite charitable organizations through the convenience of payroll deduction or one-time gifts. The State of Missouri has a history of philanthropy and a spirit of service. Since the inception of the annual campaign, state employees have donated more than $31 million to charities statewide. Donations have exceeded $1 million in 18 of the past 34 years.
