Boone Center, Inc. integrates Missourians living with disabilities into the workforce through job training and employment opportunities
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Today, Governor Parson visited Boone Center, Inc. (BCI) to learn about their efforts to offer a choice of employment for adults living with disabilities.
BCI is a not-for-profit organization that currently serves 250 adults living with disabilities in its two production facilities in Missouri. The Governor visited BCI’s St. Peters facility today, the second facility is located in Moscow Mills.
“BCI is doing important work to offer employment to Missourians living with disabilities, and I enjoyed getting a chance to learn more about their organization,” said Governor Parson. “As we continue our focus on workforce development, BCI offers an example of how to provide individuals the skills necessary to find competitive employment.”
Additionally, BCI’s Career Planning Center offers individually focused job discovery, exploration, training, and career planning for individuals aiming to enter employment in the competitive job market. This program currently serves approximately 50 people.
Earlier this month, BCI opened a Skills Center in partnerships with local companies. The Skills Center will offer vocational training to adults living with disabilities in preparation for employment.
