JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Gov. Mike Parson started off his week with a visit to a not-for-profit for those with a disability and closed the week with a trip to Joplin to promote infrastructure.
The 57th Governor of Missouri was recognized as Statesman of the Year by the Missouri Times on Tuesday.
Missouri’s chief executive visited Boone Center, Inc. on Monday to learn about their efforts to offer a choice of employment for adults living with disabilities.
BCI is a not-for-profit organization that currently serves 250 adults living with disabilities in its two production facilities in Missouri. The facility Parson visited is BCI’s St. Peters location, a second facility is located in Moscow Mills.

On Wednesday, Parson opened up the third The Missouri Way management training program with a speech to more than 200 leaders from across the state’s 16 executive departments. The management program supports the governor’s priority to provide State of Missouri managers, supervisors, and employees with the training and tools they need to both lead their teams better and improve how they serve the citizens of Missouri.
He launched the first-ever The Missouri Way training in August. The program is now established as an important component to the state’s back-to-basics management transformation.

Joplin emergency services, school busses, and local businesses rely upon this 62 yr. bridge which was downgraded to poor condition in 2017. Our proposal will fix hundreds of bridges just like this one. pic.twitter.com/MQmvByAhBs
