MoCannTrade announces full list of national industry leaders to speak at MoCannBizCon + Expo in St. Louis

Press release

Nationally recognized industry leaders featured at two-day conference in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS – Today, the Missouri Medical Cannabis Trade Association (MoCannTrade) announced additional details on the MoCannBizCon + Expo, including a number of high-profile national industry leaders to present at the conference in St. Louis on March 11 and 12. Over 1,200 people have purchased tickets for the conference and attendee numbers are expected to continue to grow.

“The expected attendance for the MoCannBizCon + Expo, paired with the initial number of pre-applications filed with the Department of Health and Senior Services, demonstrates the enormous interest people have in this emerging industry. It is exciting to see, and at MoCannTrade we are pleased to be able to provide this opportunity to potential applicants and others interested in the industry to learn, ask questions and build their professional networks,” said Andrew Mullins, Executive Director of MoCannTrade.

With a focus on ensuring Missouri’s program implementation will be successful, safe and compliant, MoCannTrade and Midwest Canna Expos have collaborated to present a robust offering of speakers and sessions to ensure compliance at all business levels. One of the most anticipated workshops is a presentation and follow-up panel on lab testing standards, led by Dr. Jeremy Melanson, who is the current chair of an international and technical committee on cannabis standards for the National Research Council in Canada.

There will also be a discussion entitled “Legal, Compliance & Marketing: Three Things Your Cannabusiness Needs Sooner Rather Than Later” with Ricardo Baca | Grasslands Editor & Denver Post, Larry Mishkin | Hoban Law Group, Sandra Elkind | Co-founder & CCO, STO Responsible. Seed to sale tracking and compliance is paramount to the program and BioTrackTHC’s Patrick Vo will be presenting a session on “POS Systems, Inventory Management and Compliance.” A number of workshops will focus in-depth on the license application and compliance process. One of these will be led by Brian Vicente, a nationally-renowned cannabis attorney who founded one of the first full service law firms in the country, Vicente-Sederburg, to focus solely on cannabis law.

Previously, the conference announced the opening keynote will be Lyndall Fraker, recently appointed by the Governor of Missouri to serve as the first Director of Medical Marijuana at the Department of Health and Senior Services. DHSS recently announced it has collected over $3 million in pre-application fees and over 440 forms for licenses, despite applications for licenses likely not being due until later this summer.

Michael Correia will also present a keynote on the first day of the conference. Correia is Director of Government Relations for the National Cannabis Industry Association, and directs the advocacy, education, and coalition building efforts for the national organization on Capitol Hill.

MoCannBizCon + Expo will be the largest medical marijuana industry-related event in Missouri to date and will feature keynotes, panel discussions, and workshops. The conference will also feature a service provider expo hall where industry vendors will showcase banking, legal, security, greenhouse, lighting, license application, IT systems, operations, insurance, marketing and other services to help prepare attendees to participate in Missouri’s expected $500M+ industry.

Other well know cannabis brands and companies participating in the event include: Medicine Man Technologies, Beleaf, Point Seven Group, Canna Advisors, Keef Brands, Lockton Companies, ASTM D37, Vincente Sederberg, Green Rush Consulting, BDS Analytics, BioTrackTHC, Urban-Gro, Simplifya, Cornelius CPAs, ICS Banking, SC Labs, and many others.

The two-day conference will be held at St. Louis’ Union Station in downtown St. Louis on the western end of the Gateway Mall and is produced by event production company Midwest Canna Expos. Vendor booth space is sold out, but tickets are still available. For ticketing or more info visit the MoCannBizCon+ Expo website: www.mocannbizcon.com.
