JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — The Missouri House gave their stamp of approval a nearly half a billion supplemental budget to cover expenses and to fund various state programs and agencies that are running out of money.
The House approved of, and sent to the Senate, $483,178,997 in additional funding package for FY 2019 — the current fiscal year. The total approved is roughly $28.5 million less than proposed by Gov. Mike Parson in mid-January, partly because some departments have since revised their requests.
Of the supplemental budget, which is HB 14, $194,594,581 is from general revenue, $193,803,796 is from federal funds, and $94,780,620 is from other revenue streams.
Provisions in the funding bill include $475,000 for distributions of charter school closure refunds, $14,306,011 for payment of the state’s contribution to the Missouri Consolidated Health Care Plan, $5,123,140 to the Department of Mental Health for the purpose of paying overtime to state employees, and $1,982,876 and $3,815,521 for funding varying areas of the Medical Marijuana Program.
MO HealthNet Division was allotted $47,569,958 for funding physician services and related services, $112,729 for dental services, $4,696,799 for care in nursing facilities, $29,226,620 for all other non-institutional services, $1,006,419 for complex rehabilitation technology, $147,527,098 for hospital care, and $10,586,647 for access to care for uninsured children.
