JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — From traveling the state to pushing legislative priorities, Missouri’s chief executive had a busy week.
On Wednesday, Gov. Mike Parson rolled out an incentive package that was a result of a week of negations and discussion.

The same plan, designed to attract more than $1 billion investment from General Motors, was given a green light by the Missouri House late Thursday.
“We are now one step closer to passing one of the most comprehensive workforce and economic development proposals that proves to the country that Missouri is open for business,” said Parson. “Thanks to the leadership of House Speaker Elijah Haahr, Majority Leader Rob Vescovo, Speaker Pro-Tem John Wiemann, and Representative Nick Schroer; Missouri will soon have the tools to compete and win big for jobs and growth across the entire state.”
Parson signed a proclamation to declare the week as Public Service Recognition Week in Missouri. As part of that, he recognized the achievements of several groups within Missouri’s state agencies. On Tuesday, Parson recognized five state teams with the 2018 Governor’s Award for Quality and Productivity.
“These teams are great examples of what our State of Missouri public servants can do,” Parson said. “They all decided the status quo was not acceptable. And, they changed the way work gets done. We need a lot more change like this. This is how we will serve our citizens better.”

Parson also surveyed the flood damage in St. Louis and the surrounding areas.
