When President Donald Trump announced his re-election bid from Florida Tuesday night, state Sen. Bob Onder hosted nearly 200 people at his Lake Saint Louis home to watch.
During what it has called the “National Week of Training,” the Republican National Committee (RNC) is holding grassroots training workshops and “MAGA Meet-Ups” across the country from June 14 to June 20. The meet-ups were generally to watch Trump’s re-election announcement Tuesday night.
Let’s #MAGA party in St. Charles County. 175 patriots joined us, we had protestors, Lake Saint Louis finest stopped by and the deck broke! All in all, a GREAT party! @MissouriGOP #moleg #MAGA @realDonaldTrump @POTUS #conservative6 pic.twitter.com/SeR3HyrQAP

In Missouri, more than 30 training sessions and meet-ups have been scheduled with more than 500 attendees by Tuesday, according to figures obtained by The Missouri Times. On a national level, about 120 trainings with more than 2,100 participants had been completed by Monday.
“Supporters across Missouri are showcasing their enthusiasm and readiness to re-elect President Trump in 2020,” RNC spokesperson Christiana Purves told The Missouri Times. “With more jobs, more money in their paychecks, and low unemployment rates, Missourians are eager to support his America First agenda.”
Aside from Onder’s event, the Missouri GOP hosted nearly 10 other watch parties across the state for Trump’s re-election announcement. The events were held in Hartville, Joplin, Springfield, Valley Park, and other places.
Seen as a more competitive state, Missouri went for Trump in 2016. In the Show-Me State, Trump defeated Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton with more than 56 percent of votes, gaining its 10 electoral votes.
