JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — In between promoting the launch of an adult scholarship program and taking a look at urban communities, Gov. Mike Parson called a special session.
Missouri’s chief executive also welcomed home 110 veterans who participated in the 59th Central Missouri Honor Flight.

Parson officially called lawmakers back during the week of Sept. 9 to address a vehicle sales tax issues. The special session will center around a Missouri Supreme Court ruling involving the Department of Revenue (DOR).
On Tuesday, Parson joined U.S. Marshal Mark James and U.S. Attorney Tim Garrison in a press conference addressing violent crime in Kansas City. The results of Operation Triple Beam, a 10-week initiative of the Midwest Violent Fugitive Taskforce, was released at the time.
He also traveled to St. Louis on Thursday for multiple meetings. Parson met with officials from the Beloved Streets of America and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and toured Local 562’s new medical center and training facility.
Friday morning, Parson attended a ribbon cutting ceremony in Blue Springs for Faurecia, one of the world’s leading automotive technology companies. The new 250,000 square-foot interiors manufacturing facility represents a $60 million investment and has already created more than 200 jobs.
Rounding out the week, Parson spent most of Friday promoting the launch of the Fast Track Workforce Incentive Grant. Along with Department of Higher Education Commissioner Zora Mulligan, he visited Metropolitan Community College (MCC), Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-West Plains), and Ozark Technical College (OTC).
Parson also appointed six folks to various boards and commissions and one county office.
