Strategic Capitol Consulting hires veteran PR strategist Brittany Robbins

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Brittany Robbins, an award-winning public relations specialist, has joined Strategic Capitol Consulting (SCC) as a communications and advocacy strategist.

At SCC, Robbins will be focused on public relations, earned media strategy, public policy messaging, and rapid response communications, the company said in an email to clients. She’s tasked with managing SCC’s client correspondence, messaging strategy, and public relations.

Aside from her work at SCC, she will continue to manage her own firm, OnMessage.

Born and raised in St. Louis, Robbins got her start in television news before she transitioned to politics and public relations.

“I love all the different clients I get to connect with and different issues I get to work on,” Robbins told The Missouri Times. “Every set of solutions that I come up with for my clients are unique and tailored to them. That keeps the day-to-day for me different, it keeps me challenged, and sets up a new opportunity every day.”

Robbins was part of a large, “amazing” team under former Gov. Jay Nixon, who launched the “100 Missouri Miles” challenge — an effort that encouraged Missourians to enjoy the state’s parks and trails. That team was recognized for its social media component of the challenge.

Robbins is a member of the Public Relations Society of America, National Association of Professional Women, and CREW St. Louis, according to SCC. She is also a volunteer with the Missouri Alliance for Animal Legislation and Mission: St. Louis.

Robbins has appeared as a guest on “This Week in Missouri Politics” and filled in as host for the show Sunday.
