JEFFERSON CITY—The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved a request filed by Union Electric Company d/b/a Ameren Missouri to adjust the Energy Efficiency Investment Charge (EEIC) that appears on the monthly bills of electric customers of Ameren Missouri. The adjustment will result in a decrease of approximately $7.27 a month for a typical residential customer. The change is expected to take effect on January 27, 2016.
Ameren Missouri filed this change because its Missouri Energy Efficiency Investment Act (MEEIA) programs expired on December 31, 2015, and Ameren Missouri does not currently have a Commission-approved Cycle 2 Plan.
The Energy Efficiency Investment Charge (EEIC) is a charge which encourages utility companies to implement demand-side and energy efficiency programs and was part of the Missouri Energy Efficiency Investment Act (MEEIA). The charge is reflected as a separate line item on customer bills.
Ameren Missouri serves approximately 1.2 million electric customers in Missouri.
