Ashcroft names former Blunt chief counsel to lead transition team

ST. LOUIS – The next Secretary of State for Missouri has named five members to his transition team.

The transition team will be led by Lowell Pearson, former Chief Counsel to Governor Matt Blunt.

The other four members will consist of Bev Randles, who most recently ran as a candidate for lieutenant governor, and Matt Morrow, President and CEO of the Springfield Chamber of Commerce, as well as former Ashcroft campaign manager Steele Shippy and former Ashcroft political director Lindsey Reinholdt.

The transition team will be tasked with helping to make the change for the new administration, and help Ashcroft fulfill his campaign promises to rebuild confidence in elections, restore the working relationships with local election authorities, and attract new jobs to the state.

The Secretary of State-elect held initial meetings in Jefferson City on Tuesday and plans to make more announcements in the coming weeks.

Jay Ashcroft announced the team on Thursday in a news release.
