Axiom Strategies ramps up for 2020 election cycle

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Axiom Strategies and its affiliate companies are ramping up in preparation for a competitive 2019-2020 election cycle, hiring eight new employees since the beginning of the year. The firm continues to bring on board political and policy experts who have served in governor’s offices, statehouses, U.S. Senate and House offices, top federal agencies, and presidential campaigns, many who were integral to some of the largest, most high-stakes statewide and national campaigns during the 2018 cycle.

Since November, Axiom Strategies has brought on board a new vice president and general consultant, two senior vice presidents to grow its corporate public affairs arm (Clout Public Affairs), two senior associates, two associates, and a designer to support Axiom’s robust research, direct mail, campaign, and corporate operations. These new hires are based across five different offices nationwide and their full bios are included below.

Kristin Davison – Vice President and General Consultant
Axiom Strategies

Kristin has over a decade of campaign and policy experience, from local mayoral races to national presidential campaigns, from the White House to the British House of Commons.

Most recently she worked with several candidates and issue initiatives around the country managing statewide run-off elections and orchestrating statewide campaign launches the Tampa Bay Times dubbed, “…the most impressive and picturesque campaign kickoffs…” before heading to Nevada to spearhead former Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt’s 2018 gubernatorial campaign.

Prior to the 2018 Election Cycle, Kristin was the Deputy Surrogate Director on Sen. Marco Rubio’s 2016 presidential campaign and the Senior Advisor to Senator Roy Blunt’s (R-Mo.) winning 2016 re-election campaign. In Missouri, she refocused the Blunt campaign’s data targeting and opposition research, restructured its field operation, increasing voter contacts by 1,091% in her first month, and led the 2016 Missouri Victory program that resulted in a sweep of all statewide Republican candidates on the ballot.

Kristin studied political science, but the foundation of her education came during her time as Chief of Staff at Karl Rove and Company. There she was involved in polling, data, messaging, and strategy for statewide, national, and international campaigns, political groups, Fox News, and the Wall Street Journal. She also led the research, editing, and marketing of former Deputy Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor to President George W. Bush, Karl Rove’s, two best-selling books, “Courage and Consequence: My Life as a Conservative in the Fight” and “The Triumph of William McKinley: Why the Election of 1896 Still Matters.”

A Pennsylvania native and Catholic University of America graduate, Kristin can generally be
found traveling or having way too much fun with excel spread sheets.

Samantha Dravis – Senior Vice President
Clout Public Affairs

Samantha is a policy advisor and strategist who has experience working at the White House, Capitol Hill, Federal Agencies and for some of the country’s most influential political and public policy organizations.

Samantha most recently served as Associate Administrator at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency where she was responsible for leading policy for the agency’s regulatory and permitting programs and providing analysis and oversight of all the agency’s major regulatory actions. Samantha also served as the EPA’s Regulatory Reform Officer, leading the agency’s response to President Trump’s Executive Order 13771 and spearheading a major effort that resulted in 22 deregulatory actions during the first year of the Trump Administration. Samantha also led the process of EPA’s coordination with the White House, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), and the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA), as well as all other federal agencies.

Prior, Samantha worked as an attorney on Mitt Romney’s 2012 campaign for the presidency, and as the Associate Director of Political Affairs at the White House during the administration of President George W. Bush, and as legal counsel for Freedom Partners Chamber of Commerce, an organization dedicated to promoting the benefits of free markets and a free society.

Samantha attended the University of Notre Dame Law School, receiving several merit scholarships. She served as the Solicitation Editor of the Notre Dame Journal of Law, Ethics, and Public Policy and graduated cum laude.

Catherine Frazier – Senior Vice President, Communications
Clout Public Affairs

Catherine is a communications expert and strategist with more than a decade of experience in political communications, crisis management, state and federal public affairs, and state and national political campaigns.

She has crafted communications strategies around numerous policy and political efforts in the Texas Governor’s Office, on two presidential primary campaigns, and on Capitol Hill. She is proficient in messaging, rapid response, media training, media booking, article, and op-ed placement, and event planning.

Before joining Clout, Catherine served as senior communications adviser to U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz on his winning re-election campaign and prior to that, managed his U.S. Senate press office. In both roles, she was responsible for long-term communications planning, day-to-day media relations, rapid response, and organizing his press events and media interviews. She also served as the national press secretary to Cruz’s 2016 presidential primary campaign, where she traveled to more than 40 states, serving as the campaign’s primary spokesperson on the road, managing traveling press, and overseeing day to day messaging and press event logistics.

Before working on Capitol Hill, Catherine was press secretary to Texas Gov. Rick Perry, and also served as deputy press secretary to his 2012 presidential campaign and 2010 re-election campaign for governor. She spent three legislative sessions in the Governor’s Press Office, where she started out as a press assistant in 2007.

Catherine is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin holding bachelor’s degrees in Government and Public Relations. She resides in Austin with her husband and young daughter and is frequently in D.C. for her work with Clout.

Ashley Moretti – Senior Associate

Ashley joined Axiom Strategies in the Spring of 2019. A graduate of the University of Kansas, with a Master of Accountancy, she worked in Kansas City and Dallas as a consultant for Grant Thornton LLP.

Later, she followed her true calling, politics, and never looked back. She served as Gov. Sam Brownback’s Legislative Liaison before moving back to Texas as the Executive Director for the Dallas County Republican Party where she successfully navigated the party from a red to black budget, raising a record $1.5M leaving the party strong and robust.

Her passion is helping conservative candidates and she looks forward to steering Axiom clients straight to victory. Ashley was born in Texas but raised in Kansas and bleeds all things crimson and blue – Rock Chalk Jayhawk!

Anthony Barry – Senior Associate
Axiom Strategies

Anthony got his start in politics while interning for a former Speaker of the House in Washington. After interning on the hill, Anthony jumped right into the world of campaigning, running three candidates for city council in his hometown.

In the last 10 years, Anthony has worked on both the official and campaign side. Working in the official office of his local congressman, as well as managing races from the Illinois state legislature to top tier congressional races.

Most recently Anthony was the number-two on the Arizona U.S. Senate race where he served in several roles managing the digital and data program, oversaw the fundraising program, and managed all finances and a $25 million budget.

Anthony is a native of Illinois and a graduate of Illinois State University with a degree in politics and government.

Daniel Alonso – Research Associate
Remington Research Group

Danny is joining Remington Research Group as a Research Associate in Washington, D.C.

Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Danny moved to Washington, DC after graduating from Florida International University with degrees in political science and international relations. He previously worked at the Congressional Leadership Fund where he was the lead analyst providing input and oversight on opposition research, independent expenditures, earned media, and polling in 13 battleground House races. Danny’s interest in politics began in high school when he interned for Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen

Chavonne Ludick – Associate
Axiom Strategies

Prior to joining Axiom Strategies in 2019 as an Associate for the team’s Northwest Operations Division, Chavonne most recently served as Deputy Director of Communications on Gov. Mike Dunleavy’s transition team in Alaska.

Chavonne graduated with a political science degree and a minor in communications in 2016. Post-graduation, she moved to Washington State where she began her career in politics working as a field organizer during the 2017 special election. From there, she moved to the legislature, becoming a legislative aide for the Washington state Senate. Following the legislative session, Chavonne worked as a campaign manager for two state Senate races in Washington. She is based in the Seattle area.

Brandi Wilkins – Designer
Axiom Strategies

In May of 2017 Brandi earned her BFA in Graphic Design with a minor in Communication from the University of Central Missouri (UCM) in Warrensburg and she quickly jumped into the world of freelance design. She immediately went to work with local businesses, events, and individuals in Warrensburg to meet their design needs. She has created business cards for an ambitious duo who wanted to start up their own Drafting & Design LLC, created event programs and flyers for UCM’s Marching Band events, done several t-shirt designs for high schools around the area, and countless wedding invitations.

Brandi joined Axiom part-time in January 2018 as an ambitious designer excited to bring new and creative ideas to the world of political mail and came on board full-time in November 2018. She lives with her husband in Independence, Missouri.
