JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is seeking input from the public on what qualities they would like to see in the next commissioner.
The department uploaded a page to their website earlier this week, allowing Missourians to submit their feedback about what characteristics the State Board of Education should consider while interviewing applicants for the job. It also includes a link to the current job notice outlining the responsibilities and duties of the position.
The survey asks what people believe is the greatest education issue facing the state today before asking their relative status to the issue.
According to DESE, more than 1,500 people responded to the survey on the first day.
