Jim Murphy running for Rep. Cloria Brown’s seat

On the heels of the announcement that Rep. Cloria Brown will not be seeking re-election due to health problems, Jim Murphy has thrown his hat in the race.

Murphy

A businessman who has been active in his community says he feels he is the “right person with the right experience.”

“I know what good government is,” the Republican candidate for House District 94 said, “I know what bad government is.”

Murphy has been involved in his community for some time, serving on boards, working on several grassroots campaigns, and advocating for local issues. He has been a businessman for more than 40 years, first for The Singer Company, then as owner of Shoppers Rule, Inc., an embroidery and sewing supply company located in Arnold, Mo. with an international customer base.

“I want to be the voice of the people for the 94th,” Murphy said. “My platform is to put the people of the 94th first. To fight for them and what matters most to them.”

Murphy says he checks all the traditional GOP stances, including being right-to-life and pro-gun. However, he feels the current policies are in a good place in the state and wants to focus on other issues. He wants to bring jobs to Missouri, specifically to his district where job growth has lagged behind and said he will fight the City-County merger.
