Missouri Farm Bureau endorses Tony Luetkemeyer, Jeanie Riddle for state Senate

JEFFERSON CITY, MO – The Missouri Farm Bureau’s regional committees have voted to endorse Tony Luetkemeyer and Jeanie Riddle in their respective state Senate races.

The Farm Bureau’s Northern Regional Endorsement Committee interviewed Luetkemeyer and his general election opponent Martin Rucker in St. Joseph on August 29. The trustees voted to endorse Luetkemeyer’s candidacy for Missouri’s 34th State Senate District.

“Tony Luetkemeyer has a genuine interest in agriculture and will work to strengthen our rural communities,” said Darrell Aldrich, chairman of the Northern Regional Endorsement Committee. “He understands the consequences of unnecessary regulation and the threats posed by extremist groups like the Humane Society of the United States. Tony will be an advocate for improving infrastructure, including roads, bridges and broadband. As family farmers, we believe he will represent us well in Jefferson City.”

The Farm Bureau’s East Central Regional Endorsement Committee interviewed Riddle and her general election opponent Ayanna Shivers on September 4. The trustees voted unanimously to endorse Riddle’s candidacy for Missouri’s 10th State Senate District.

“Senator Riddle has a proven track record of service to the public and to agriculture. She shares the values of Missouri Farm Bureau members,” said Larry Ware, a trustee from Lincoln County.

“Jeanie will listen to the voices of farmers, ranchers and rural Missourians. She understands the issues important to agriculture and rural Missouri. We look forward to working with her in the Missouri Senate,” said Alec Fodge, President of Monroe County Farm Bureau and member of the East Central Regional Endorsement Committee.

Trustees are selected by their county Farm Bureau organizations. They interview the candidates running in the general election, review voting records and seek their positions on issues prior to voting on endorsements.

The 34th Senate District is comprised of Buchanan and Platte Counties. The 10th Senate District is comprised of Audrain, Callaway, Lincoln, Monroe, Montgomery and Warren Counties.
