New Super PAC plans campaign to support Hawley challenge

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Today, Missouri Rising Action announced its launch as a new Super PAC with the goal of urging Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley to enter the 2018 U.S. Senate race, and commitment to supporting him should he decide to challenge 10-year incumbent Democrat Senator Claire McCaskill.

Missouri Rising Action plans to run television, digital, and radio ads highlighting Hawley’s impressive record as Attorney General, as a Constitutional lawyer and an educator, and will also recruit grassroots support across the state to encourage him to run for this seat.

“We believe that Josh Hawley is that rare once-in-a-generation candidate, which is why so many Missourians are urging him to run for the United States Senate,” former Missouri State Senator Jane Cunningham, a board member of Missouri Rising Action, said. “Unlike career politician Claire McCaskill, Josh Hawley is a Constitutionalist with the education, experience, keen intellect and humility to help lead America back to the values Missourians hold dear.”

“Josh Hawley represents the next generation of conservative leadership for Missouri and the nation,” Dick Peerson, a former Treasurer of the Missouri Republican Party, current member of the Missouri State Republican Committee, and another board member of Missouri Rising Action, said. “We need a fighter like him representing us in Washington which is why we hope he enters this race and look forward to supporting his potential candidacy.”

In addition to Cunningham and Peerson, more leading Missouri Republicans will be joining the new Super PAC’s board in the coming days.

“Claire McCaskill has proven time and again over the last decade that she is out-of-touch with Missouri by voting in lockstep with liberals like Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, and Elizabeth Warren,” Jeremy Adler, spokesman for Missouri Rising Action, said. “Josh Hawley will fight for Missourians in the U.S. Senate and that’s why the state needs him to enter this race.”

The Missouri Rising Action Super PAC will split political and policy messaging and mobilization in the 2018 Senate race with Missouri Rising, a 501(c)(4) organization which has been a key player in advancing conservative policy in the Show-Me State over the past two years.
