Patterson announces candidacy to replace termed Cierpiot

LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. – Centerpoint Medical Center surgeon Dr. Jon Patterson, a Republican, has announced his candidacy for the state house, hoping to replace termed House Majority Floor Leader, Mike Cierpiot.

“I want Missouri to be a great place to live, open a business and a place where every child has the opportunity to get a great public education and then go out to pursue their dreams,” Patterson explained.

As a state representative, Patterson vows to support measures that will help public education and small business. Other issues Patterson will focus on maintaining include topics such as tort reform, right-to-work, prescription drug monitoring and upholding the second amendment.

Patterson is a native of Blue Springs and a graduate of the University of Missouri. After obtaining his undergraduate and medical degrees he made his home in Lee’s Summit, where he finished surgical residency at Truman Medical Center.

Motivation for Patterson’s candidacy comes from his work, family and profession.

If elected, Patterson promises to work alongside anyone who is willing to work for the betterment of Missouri.

“I look forward to getting to know the people of this district and hearing their ideas about how to make Missouri a better place to live,” Patterson said.
