Reischman to take on new role as managing editor

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Missouri Times is proud to announce that longtime Lead Reporter, Collin Reischman, will soon take on the role Managing Editor of The Missouri Times.

As managing editor, Reischman will take a more active role in steering content, overseeing personnel, and leading other staff members by fostering introductions and assisting in tracking down important news stories.

“I am very excited about the evolution of my role here,” Reischman said. “The Missouri Times has been a great opportunity for me, and I’m looking forward to the new things I’ll be able to accomplish in my new role.”

Reischman has reported for the publication since its start in January 2013. He received his journalism degree from Webster University and has been awarded for his reporting by the Missouri College Media Association and the Society for Professional Journalists.

“Collin is very easy to work with,” Rachael Herndon, creative director, said. “Between Scott and Collin, there is a lot of creative freedom and a great sense of direction for the paper.”

This campaign cycle will be the first for The Missouri Times since its inception. Reischman will be coordinating coverage from St. Louis, where he will be working to cover the region’s primary and general elections, both locally and statewide.

“Our first campaign cycle will be very interesting, and I’m extremely eager to get started,” Reischman said.

“Collin is somebody who’s grown with the Missouri Times. I’ve learned something from him every day. He’s not just a colleague – he’s a friend. He will provide a great service to readers,” Scott Faughn, publisher of The Missouri Times said.

Reischman’s official title change will be on June 1.
