State revenue on the rise

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Missouri officials announced today that state net general revenue collections increased more than 5 percent compared to 2014.

State Budget Director Linda Luebbering announced today in an email that net revenue collections in Missouri were up 5.1 percent from this time last year, totaling at $4.06 billion compared to last year’s $3.87 billion.

Net general revenue collections for the month of December alone jumped more than 10 percent from $759.6 million to $841.1 million.

GROSS COLLECTIONS BY TAX TYPE

 

Individual income tax collections

Increased 6.3 percent for the year, from $2.71 billion last year to $2.88 billion this year.

Increased 9.6 percent for the month.

 

Sales and use tax collections

Increased 3.0 percent for the year, from $979.6 million last year to $1.01 billion this year.

Increased 4.8 percent for the month.

 

Corporate income and corporate franchise tax collections

Increased 3.3 percent for the year, from $260.6 million last year to $269.3 million this year.

Increased 19.8 percent for the month.

 

All other collections

Decreased 5.8 percent for the year, from $187.1 million last year to $176.4 million this year.

Decreased 19.8 percent for the month.

 

Refunds

Increased 1.2 percent for the year, from $266.2 million last year to $269.5 million this year.

Decreased 25.8 percent for the month.
