Open enrollment events hosted with deadline looming

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The deadline for open enrollment for Affordable Care Act coverage looms ahead and local groups are mobilizing to increase enrollment in their areas. The Health Insurance Marketplace will remain open until February 15.

The Urban League of Greater Kansas City has hosted a series of enrollment events this week throughout the Kansas City area (listed below).

“The Affordable Care Act represents a tremendous opportunity for Kansas City families to improve their health and safety by obtaining affordable health care coverage,” said Gwendolyn Grant, President and CEO of the Urban League of Greater Kansas City. “Kansas Citians must act fast in order to get covered before the upcoming Feb. 15 deadline. We encourage everyone to attend one of the upcoming open enrollment events to get more information about health care coverage.”

The Urban League praised the announcement last week that 198,000 Missourians have enrolled or re-enrolled for health care coverage during the federal marketplaces open enrollment period so far. The organization encourages anyone wanting more details about specific Kansas City enrollment events or information to go to www.coverkc.org

CoverKC.org is maintained by the Mid-America Regional Council with funding from the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City and the REACH Healthcare Foundation in partnership with the Heartland Regional Health Equity Council.
