Kristy Dalton, creator of GovGirl.com, was the conference keynote and spoke to attendees about the importance of social media in government.
“Why should government use new social platforms?” Dalton asked attendees. “To reach all audiences. Be where your citizens are.”
The conference also included workshops discussing political ethics and public values, golf, a reception, and the annual banquet. This year’s reception was held at the National World War I Museum at Liberty Memorial.
Tonight’s banquet will feature entertainment from The Diverse Trio and McFaddan Brothers.
MML is a statewide, independent, not-for-profit association representing municipal officials. The association took a front seat during this past session, where the legislature considered “the bag bill” and municipal court reform. A full list of the association’s session interests can be seen here.
Next year’s annual conference will be September 11-14, 2016 in St. Louis.
