NFL holding public hearing on ‘potential relocation’

ST. LOUIS – The National Football League (NFL) has announced that they will be hosting a public hearing “regarding the potential relocation of the St. Louis Rams” next week in St. Louis.

The hearing will give fans and community members opportunities to ask the NFL questions “before any decisions are made about a potential relocation.”

The announcement comes within weeks of NFL team owners meeting and several years of rumors, speculation, and debate about the Rams staying in St. Louis and methods for building and funding a new stadium for the team in St. Louis. The hearing is said to be “part of the process for assessing any proposed relocation.”

Lawmakers said just this past week on This Week in Missouri Politics that the stadium “is as good as gone,” while Gov. Jay Nixon seems to continue to push ahead with a public bonding measure to help fund a billion dollar stadium proposal.

The hearing will be Oct. 27 at 7:00 p.m. at the Peabody Opera House in St. Louis.

Those interested in attending must obtain a “non-transferable entry pass.” The pass must be requested through a form provided by the NFL. After receipt confirmation, a second email will confirm entry passes that will have a barcode for entry. The passes will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis and are limited. Season ticket holders are entitled to “a certain number of passes” reserved specifically for Rams season ticket members.

A live stream of the hearing will be available for viewing at NFL.com/publichearings.

Written comments can also be emailed to the NFL.
