Missourians for the Unborn rallies in rotunda for ‘All Lives’

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Advocates against abortion rallied in the first floor rotunda on Wednesday, lending support for a bill Rep. Mike Moon, R-Ash Grove, filed titled the “All Lives Matter Act.”

The bill, HB 1794 would make three small, but far-reaching, changes, the first being to call the section the “All Lives Matter Act.”

The second expands that section specifying that life begins at conception to further specify that personhood is established at conception.

The third change states:

Law enforcement officers, officers of the court, and any licensed or state regulated entities in the state shall affirmatively enforce article I, section 10 of the Constitution of Missouri, which specifies that no person shall be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of law.

At least 70 advocates gathered for the rally, where dozens of lawmakers lent their support to the cause and stated they would be co-sponsoring the bill.

Rally attendees from across the state also visited their lawmaker’s offices, where they left salmon-colored cards with their contact information.

The cards read:

Since the Roe v. Wade decision, nearly 700,000 babies have been legally killed in Missouri. It’s time for the killing to stop. Many laws have been passed to make abortion harder to provide and more difficult to get but in the end, if a mother wants to legally kill her baby, she can.

Many protections are ascribed to person in our state statues. It is time to acknowledge the unborn child as a person with no stipulations.

Please support HB 1794 – the All Lives Matter Act.

The rally was organized by Ike Skelton of Lebanon, leader of Missourians for the Unborn.
