JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Former Republican Congressman J.C. Watts from Oklahoma will be keynoting the 2016 Cole County Lincoln Day Dinner on Monday, February 15.
Watts played football for the Oklahoma Sooners and professionally in the Canadian Football League before serving as a congressman from 1995 to 2003.
“We anticipate 2016 to be a challenging election year,” said Cole County Republican Central Committee Chairman Ron Fitzwater. “We’re excited to have Congressman Watts here to help kick off the political season here in Missouri.”
The annual Republican event will be opened with a candidate meet and greet from 5:30-6:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:00 p.m. Watts is expected to deliver his keynote address at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets to the dinner are $40 until February 12, raising to $50 afterwards. The event will also host a silent auction.
