TWMP: Rep. Don Gosen speaks out about his resignation

On Sunday’s This Week in Missouri Politics, host Scott Faughn interviews former Rep. Don Gosen, R-Chesterfield, who retired this week in a flurry of rumors. He speaks about the decisions he made that led to his resignation, including the confirmation of his affair with someone who does not work in the Capitol building. He also discusses the influences and pressures culture in the Capitol and how he specifically came to the conclusion he should resign.

Later in the show, the opinion maker panel, consisting of director of government affairs with the Gate Way Group Kate Casas; Sen. Will Kraus, R-Lee’s Summit; Rep. Jeremy LaFaver, D-Kansas City; and Rep. Ron Hicks, R-St. Peters, discuss the implications of Gosen’s resignation and the reaction to it around the Capitol. They also discuss the broader effect it will have on the ethics discussion in the Capitol, the passage of the paycheck protection bill, the Senate filibuster on the collateral source bill, and LaFaver also speaks about his reason not to run for a third term in office.
