JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Capitol’s main south steps, around the Thomas Jefferson statue, will be closed and removed beginning on or after March 21. The steps will remain closed through October.
The Capitol will continue to be accessible through the south carriage entrance and the south doors to either side of the carriage entrance. The bronze doors will continue to be closed throughout the duration of the project.
The exterior improvements are part of an ongoing Capitol improvement effort, nearing the Capitol’s 100th Anniversary.
