Kraus receives endorsement from Cattlemen’s

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – State Sen. Will Kraus, R-Lee’s Summit, received an endorsement from one of the top agricultural lobbies in the state Thursday.

The Missouri Cattlemen’s Association threw their support behind Kraus because, as Jimmie Long, the policy and legislative affairs committee chairman for MCA says, he “does not just speak about the importance of Missouri’s cattle farmers and ranchers. He has had their back time and time again.”

“From challenging government overreach to defending property rights, he has demonstrated that he values Missouri’s farm and ranch families and will be relentless in his pursuit to grow the state’s number one industry – an industry made up of families working hard off the land,” Long continued.

Kraus grew up on a farm in Sedalia and says he understands what it means to manage a farm and thus what farmers are looking for in legislation and governance.

“We must continue to keep government from putting a stranglehold on the people who work hard every day to put food on our tables,” Kraus said in a statement. “I am proud to be endorsed by the Missouri Cattlemen’s Association, who represent many of those hard working Missourians.”

The Cattlemen’s endorsement comes after they have also given the nod to two other state senators in their statewide races. Sen. Mike Parson, R-Bolivar, and Sen. Kurt Schaefer, R-Columbia, have earned their support in their bids for lieutenant governor and attorney general, respectively. All three Republicans have primaries.
