Molendorp named executive director of ConnectCASS

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Citing his work on healthcare issues in the legislature and his background in health insurance, ConnectCASS — a non-profit organization focusing on delivering healthcare to Cass county residents — named Rep. Chis Molendorp, R-Cass County, as its new executive director.

“It is a unique position, it requires a mixture of public policy knowledge, healthcare knowledge and personal relationships with the individuals and organizations in play,” Molendorp says. “My very first thought when I found out was: ‘What a perfect transition from the legislature for me going forward.’”

Molendorp is recognized as one of the leading voices on healthcare and insurance policy in the Capitol. He is Chairman of the House Health Insurance committee, sits on the Medicaid transformation committee — where he testified at length last week about the struggles of rural healthcare providers — the Insurance policy committee and the Joint Committee on Medicaid.

Molendorp and his family operated Molendorp Insurance Agency Incorporated from 1977 until last June when Molendorp officially retired from the insurance business.

“I’m looking forward to acting as a broker between the individuals and organizations working on wellness,” Molendorp says. “I want to be able to help put those programs together so they can find the best ways to improve health and wellness.”
