Eigel Outpaces Opponents in Fundraising

Candidate raises more than $140,000 in first 26 days of campaigning.

(St. Peters, MO) – Air Force veteran and small business owner Bill Eigel has raised more than $140,000  in his bid to replace a term-limited Sen. Tom Dempsey (R-St. Charles).

Eigel formed his campaign committee on June 5, 2015, giving him 26 days to raise funds for campaign finance reports due this week, covering the second quarter of the year.

Eigel’s first report includes an initial $100,000 personal loan from the candidate.

“I haven’t worked to pass tax credits for corporations and catered to labor unions, so special interest groups aren’t going to cut big checks to my campaign,” said Eigel. “I have to rely on my network of friends and family that live in the real world to help me raise the funds necessary to get out my message of less government in our everyday lives.”

Eigel is a small business owner and a conservative that is seeking office for the first time. He and his wife, Amanda, have long ties to St. Charles County.

The Eigels own St. Louis Skylights, one of the fastest growing skylight installation companies in America. The couple purchased the company after leaving the United States Air Force as Aircraft Maintenance Officers at Whiteman Air Force Base. The couple returned to St. Charles County to raise their children closer to their family and to be a part of the local community.

As St. Louis Skylights grew and new branch offices opened, Bill Eigel worked to grow the company by recruiting recently retired Air Force veterans that he served with at Whiteman. In addition to St. Louis Skylights, Eigel also owns National Skylight Solutions, the parent company of their St. Louis location, serving customers throughout the United States.

Eigel served more than seven years in the Air Force in the United States and overseas and volunteers as a driver at the Veterans Administration Retirement Home in North St. Louis County.

The Eigels are active in the St. Joseph Catholic Church and their children attend St. Joseph School.
