Tax Cut Now Tour heads to Missouri

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Republicans continue pushing for tax cuts on a national level, led by President Donald Trump, who has promised the “biggest tax cut in the history of our country.”

That message and promise of tax reform are being taken on a nationwide tour as part of the Tax Cuts Now Tour with Job Creators Network. The small-business grassroots group is partnering with conservative groups and Freedomworks to launch a nationwide campaign calling for tax reform legislation to give American taxpayers an economic boost.

“Washington doesn’t have a revenue problem, it has a spending problem,” former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich said, who has partnered with the groups.

This week, that tour will be stopping in the Show-Me State, where several Missouri Republican politicians will be welcoming the tour and speaking to Missourians about why now is the time for tax cuts.

The event will feature State Treasurer Eric Schmitt, Sens. Bob Onder and Bill Eigel, as well as Reps. Paul Curtman and Nick Schroer.

Schroer and former Missouri House Speaker Tim Jones have helped organize the event, which Schroer says will be open for all to attend.

“The idea is to educate people on the benefits of tax cuts, not only to Missourians and Americans but also small businesses and explain how it can stimulate the small-business economy,” Schroer said.

The tour’s only Missouri stop will be in St. Peters, which Schroer says is a great opportunity for St. Louis Region.

“They’re coming into St. Charles County, where a lot of businesses and residents are moving into the county, making it the largest growing county in the state of Missouri,” he said.

The event will be held at Arrowhead Building Supply in St. Peters on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 10 a.m., running somewhere in the realm of one to two hours.
