JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – After more than five years of working with Sen. Doug Libla, Kyle Aubuchon is parting ways with the Missouri Capitol.
Tuesday, Oct. 31 marked the final day of Aubuchon’s service to Sen. Libla and the constituents of District 25, as the former Capitol staffer is now leaving to work for U.S. Congressman Jason Smith as a field representative.
Aubuchon began his career in Missouri politics as a legislative aide in the House and was first introduced to Sen. Libla by Robert Knodell. Libla was, at the time, running for Missouri Senate, and Aubuchon decided to leave Jefferson City and move to Poplar Bluff to run his campaign.
With Libla’s success in that election, Aubuchon became his chief of staff, something he describes as an educational experience, both professionally and as a person. He described Libla as a “once-in-a-lifetime” boss, saying he demanded excellence and hard work, and that he was better off because of it.
Sen. Libla posted about Aubuchon’s departure on his Facebook page Tuesday, saying:
Yesterday marked the conclusion of my service as campaign manager and chief of staff for @DougLibla25 after 5.5 incredible years #MOSenate25

It’s been a privilege & honor to serve the folks of the 25th District. There aren’t enough words to describe all I’ve learned & experienced.

I look forward to the start of a new journey today as a full time resident of Poplar Bluff, and new field representative for @RepJasonSmith
