Led by Tom Jones, a veteran policy analyst and opposition researcher, Cannon Research Group will conduct opposition research through FOIA requests; analyze public records; research companies, non-profits, Super PACs, and disclosure forms; and utilize investigators on the ground to unearth original data. Jones and his team are based out of Annapolis, Md. and provide their research to political and corporate clients all over the country.
“I am proud to announce the addition Cannon Research Group to Axiom Strategies. Reliable research can absolutely make the difference between a winning and losing campaign or millions of dollars in lost revenues in the corporate world, which is why having a research firm in-house is an excellent resource for our clients. A firm grasp on what information is out there about your client and their opponent is one of the best tools a client can have in the arsenal,” said Jeff Roe, founder of Axiom Strategies. “Tom Jones and his team are expert opposition researchers who have already proven to be a benefit for our clients.”
“We’re the research arm of Axiom Strategies and we do a number of projects for both political and corporate clients,” Jones said. “We help our political clients get a better understanding of what their vulnerabilities are. We help our corporate clients understand what their competitors are doing and what’s going on in the government space [so] that they can be more effective. We also help our political clients get a better understanding of what their opponents are doing.”
In addition to the acquisition of Cannon Research Group, Axiom Strategies has recently announced the acquisition of Revolvis, a full-scale political consulting firm with a strong West Coast presence. With the addition of Revolvis, Axiom Strategies now has offices in San Diego, San Francisco, Sacramento, and Seattle, as well as offices in Kansas City, Houston, Austin, Columbus, Annapolis, and Washington.
