Wagner rakes in $2 million in re-election campaign

Missouri Congresswoman Ann Wagner has had a good fundraising year, raking in a little more than $2 million in 2017.

She kicked off last year by setting her quarter fundraising record with more $800,000 raised in the first quarter. Which was almost double her previous largest fundraising quarter in 2012. This sparked speculation that Wagner would challenge Sen. Claire McCaskill for her seat in the U.S. Senate — in July Wagner settled the talk by stating her intent to run for re-election.

Her year end filing with the Federal Election Commission showed $2,011,652 raised in total this election cycle-to-date, which gives her a coffer of $3,237,011 cash on hand.

“2017 saw unprecedented support for Ann’s message of fiscal conservatism and making the federal government work better for Missourians,” said Brecht Mulvihill, campaign manager for Ann Wagner For Congress. “With more than $2 million raised already this cycle, and more than $3 million cash on hand, it is clear Ann has the a broad base of support to continue her work in Congress. Representing families in the Second District is a true privilege, and with record amounts already raised, Ann will clearly have the resources to take our message to the voters in 2018.”

Wagner has represented Missouri’s 2nd congressional district since winning her seat in 2012. She is a member of the House Financial Services Committee and the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
